On the second story of the IceCube Laboratory is the server room where the data from our detector is processed.

Our current detector has been operating for more than a decade, so it requires some annual maintenance to keep it running smoothly. One of the first tasks for this year was replacing fans in the power supplies that have died.

The most exciting project this season is preparing for an extension of our detector that will be installed next year, the IceCube Upgrade. For the past few years, I've been working on preparing analysis tools and simulation for this new detector, but this season I've been able to help with the preparations on site. The first step was assembling, cabling, and installing the new power supplies.
